Baby Waterman: Week 32

How Far Along? 32 weeks

Size of the Baby: Squash (16.6 inches, 3.75 pounds according to The Bump app)

Gender: BOY!!

Weight Gain: +27 pounds

Maternity Clothes: Yes!
Nursery: Tom and I spent a great deal of time in his nursery over the weekend.  We completely emptied out the closet and sorted through what needed to be re-homed elsewhere or taken to Goodwill.  I washed most of his clothes (baby laundry is so stinkin’ cute!) and hung them up.  I also worked a little bit on his dresser, but I’m not quite sure what I want to put in the drawers.  To be completely honest, his room is still a huge mess and it’s making me super anxious.  I just have to keep telling myself that it will all come together.

Movement: Lots and lots of movement and at times it is constant.  I just love feeling him move and kick!

Symptoms: I had a few days where the congestion subsided but it is back in full force!  We had a beautiful day on Monday and Tom, Elli, and I went for a long walk—I think that I might have overdone it because I was super sore that night.  It felt so good to be outside in the sunshine though!

Sleep: Tom has had a head cold this week, so between him snoring/mouth breathing and me having to constantly get up to go to the bathroom, sleep has not happened!

Cravings/Aversions: My craving for Mexican food has come back around—Tom took me to our favorite Mexican restaurant on Friday night and I made homemade salsa over the weekend, which I used on Monday to make crockpot Salsa Chicken (so good and so easy!).  I also had it in my head that I really really wanted doughnuts, but fought that craving.  We ended up just going and getting a big breakfast on Sunday morning which hit the spot!

What I Miss: Nothing!

Best Moment of the Week: The best moment of the week was our 32 week appointment.  I just love every time we go to the doctor and hear our baby’s heartbeat and make sure that we are right on track.

Looking Forward To: Continuing to work on his nursery and counting down the our 34 week appointment!

Baby Waterman: Week 31

How Far Along? 31 weeks

Size of the Baby: Asparagus (16.1 inches, 3.31 pounds according to The Bump app)

Gender: BOY!!

Weight Gain: +24 pounds

Maternity Clothes: Yes!
Nursery: We ended up having to move a lot of the baby stuff into the middle of the nursery and closing the door this week.  We were dog sitting for Tom's parents' dog and we didn't want him to get too curious around the expensive items!

Movement: Lots and lots of movement and they are becoming so much more pronounced!  One morning it felt like he was literally jumping from one side to the other--it is such a weird but wonderful feeling!

Symptoms: Still with the congestion and swollen feet.

Sleep: I slept slightly better this week, but honestly I think I was just exhausted!

Cravings/Aversions: No true cravings this week.  I really think that overall, I haven't had any true cravings...just lots of aversions!

What I Miss: Nothing!

Best Moment of the Week: I wouldn't call it the best moment of the week, but it is something worth documenting.  On Monday, I told my job that after he is born, I won't be coming back.  It was a hard decision that Tom and I truly had to wrestle with, but ultimately my desire to stay home and the outrageous prices of daycare were the deciding factor.  As scary as this decision was to make, I am so happy that everyone knows at this point and we can move forward with training my replacement and leaving on a good note!

Looking Forward To: Our 32 week appointment!  Even though it is just a normal quick visit, we still get to hear his heartbeat and that is one of my favorite sounds!  Plus it means that our next appointment after that is our last ultrasound—I can’t wait to see what he looks like now (and to calm Tom’s nerves that he is still indeed a “he”!)

Baby Waterman: Week 30

How Far Along? 30 weeks

Size of the Baby: Zucchini (15.7 inches, 2.89 pounds according to The Bump app)

Gender: BOY!!

Weight Gain: +24 pounds

Maternity Clothes: I am so happy to have elastic waist bands and big tops as this belly continues to grow and grow!
Nursery: We kept Tom's parents' dog this week and we had to put all of our big items for baby in the nursery...so at the moment it looks a lot worse!!

Movement: He is doing somersaults in my belly on a daily basis—especially when I lay down at night!

Symptoms: I still have super congested and my feet have been swelling.  Nothing that I am overly concerned with though.

Sleep: Sleep is still pretty hit or miss for me at this point.

Cravings/Aversions: Still no real cravings, just still my aversion to all red meat!

What I Miss: Nothing!

Best Moment of the Week: Turning 30 weeks--it's kind of scary to think about how close we are to meeting the little guy.  Scary yet so, so exciting!

Looking Forward To: Getting the house cleaned, de-cluttering, and getting Baby Boy's room together!

Baby Waterman: Week 29

How Far Along? 29 weeks

Size of the Baby: Acorn Squash (15.2 inches, 2.54 pounds according to The Bump app)

Gender: BOY!!

Weight Gain: +24 pounds total

Maternity Clothes: Yes!! This belly is getting gigantic (remind me I think this when I approach 40 weeks!)
Nursery: Not much has changed in his room--we have lots of plans we just need to put them into action!

Movement: Lots and lots of movement

Symptoms: Still dealing with the congestion, but I’m afraid that that is here to stay until the end of the pregnancy.  My feet have also continued to swell when I sit at my desk all day long.  I’ve tried to prop them up on a little stool, but it’s not helping too much.

Sleep: I am still not sleeping that well and constantly getting up to go to the bathroom.

Cravings/Aversions: Mexican food, Chick-fil-a Grilled Chicken Sandwiches, and the occasional Big Mac (hangs head in shame)

What I Miss: Nothing!

Best Moment of the Week: I wouldn't say it was the best moment of the week, but going back to the doctor's office to get my Tdap and Rhogam shots.  Shots aren't something I typically look forward to, but I'm so glad to have received them because it means we are getting closer to meeting this little fellow!  We also went to The Cheesecake Factory over the weekend to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday--I finally got to satisfy my craving for their Avocado Eggrolls (but let's be real, I love them pregnant or not!).

Looking Forward To: Turning 30 weeks and our next doctor's appointment!

Baby Waterman: Week 28

How Far Along? 28 weeks

Size of the Baby: Eggplant (14.8 inches, 2.20 pounds according to The Bump app)

Gender: BOY!!

Weight Gain: +24 pounds for the pregnancy {oof}

Maternity Clothes: Without a doubt, I am wearing all maternity clothes at this point.  While I was back home, we went to the outlets and I bought a few more sweaters that will carry me through this pregnancy and into nursing.  I really don't want to buy many more purely maternity pieces at this point, although I do think I will pick up one more pair of maternity leggings because they are so comfortable I live in them when I am not at work.

Nursery: Nothing has changed this week--we were planning on spending the weekend unboxing and sorting his things we got over Christmas, but we ended up getting a blizzard that sent us over to Tom's parents' house for the weekend.  We decided to head over to their house because they have a fireplace/generator if we were to lose power and they have a fenced in yard making it easy for Elli to go outside.  Plus, Tom is super paranoid that I am going to slip and fall.

Movement: Since going back to work, I didn't notice much movement during the days {which makes me really sad}.  However, in the mornings and at night, I felt him move up a storm!

Symptoms: Feet swelling, nasal congestion, and lower breast bone pain are here to stay, I think.  I have been quite congested since before Christmas and my feet started to resemble Fred Flinstone's feet after sitting at my desk all day.  I had my 28 week appointment today and was re-assured that it is perfectly normal at this stage in pregnancy.  She said that the breast bone pain is just from stretching and, again, quite normal.  Honestly, this pregnancy has been {knock on wood} really nice so if I have to deal with some aches and pains here in the last trimester, I am a-okay!

Sleep: Sleep has still been quite illusive--some nights I sleep fine and some nights I am wide awake.

Cravings/Aversions: I am still loving the Chick-Fil-A Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich.  I really need to start limiting myself on how often I eat them because I know fast food is not good for me or the baby, but they taste so good!

What I Miss: Nothing!

Best Moment of the Week: Experiencing a big snow storm!  Elli is in her element when she is out in the snow and it was so much fun to see her and Baloo {Tom's parents' dog} romping around and wrestling in the snow.

We also had our 28 week appointment today {Monday, January 9}.  Everything is right on check, my blood pressure was excellent, weight gain is good, and baby's heartrate was 150 bpm.  The only thing I couldn't take care of today was getting my Rhogam shot {since I'm Rh-] and Tdap vaccine.  They said that due to the blizzard, their shipment had been delayed and I have to call back later this week to come in to get them taken care of.

Looking Forward To: Working more on the nursery and getting our house organized, overall.  I feel like since we moved into our house several years ago, we have always been on the go, go, go and we haven't actually gone through anything.  Maybe it's nesting taking over?!
