Day 10 of 10 Day YOU Challenge

Today is the last day of the 10 Day YOU Challenge!  Today, I have to share one picture of me with y'all!

When I was little, I lived in this Cinderella costume! I wanted to wear it every single day!  A couple Halloween's later I wanted to be Cinderella again but the costume was no where near as good because it had a big ol' graphic on the front.  I wonder if Mom kept this costume... (I was so blonde as a little girl!!)

Chicken and Wild Rice Casserole

A few days ago, I posted about my favorite foods and talked about my mom's Chicken and Wild Rice Casserole. I thought I would post the recipe for those of y'all that would like to try it!  When my mom makes it (and whenever I get around to make it), we usually split it into a few dishes so that we can freeze a few for later meals.  It turns out really well after it has been frozen and re-heated!

Chicken and Wild Rice Casserole

Ingredients:

3 cups chicken breasts, cooked (boiled) and cut up
(1) 6 ounce package of long grain and wild rice mix, prepared
(1) can cream of celery soup
(1) 2 ounce jar pimientos
(1) 16 ounce can French style green beans
(1) 8 ounce can sliced water chestnuts
1 cup mayonnaise
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Directions:

Combine all ingredients, except for the shredded cheddar cheese, and place in a 15 x 9 casserole dish.  Bake for 35 minutes at 350 degrees.  Top with shredded cheddar cheese during the last 15 minutes of baking.

**Double the recipe and freeze a casserole for later.**

This is really yummy and perfect to pull out of the freezer and heat up for a quick dinner!

Monday's Style File: Jennifer Aniston

I decided to create a weekly link-up for everyone that is constantly bookmarking pictures of celebrities that serve as style inspiration for future outfits.  I know I for one have huge files on my computer of celebrities that I love and styles that I want to try.  If you follow me on Pinterest, you have probably seen my board called "Celebrity Style File" where I pin every celebrity style that I am loving and itching to re-create!!

This week I'm featuring: Jennifer Aniston.

I have been going through my Friends phase where I watch episodes on DVD to fall asleep to each night.  Goodness gracious, does the cast go through a drastic fashion/beauty transformation from season one to season ten or what?!  I believe that from season six on to season ten the fashion becomes amazing! Seven jeans and Michael Star shirts start to make appearances as does high-end pieces that were just pipe dreams back in season one.

I love Jennifer Aniston's character of Rachel.  While I personally relate to Courteney Cox's character of Monica more so than Rachel, I absolutely love Rachel.  She goes through such a metamorphosis from a bratty, spoiled woman to a career-minded mommy!

Here are a few of my favorite outfits of Jennifer Aniston, both in real life and in character as Rachel Green.

To see even more of my Celebrity Style File pins, check out my board on Pinterest!

Now, grab my button, link-up, and show us the celebrity style that you are loving this week!!

Day 9 of 10 Day YOU Challenge

For Day 9 of the 10 Day YOU Challenge, I have to tell my two favorite songs. This is going to be really, really hard because I LOVE music!!  Here's my best shot...

{one}

All American Girl by Carrie Underwood

This song reminds me of Tom and me! It always makes me so happy to hear!!

{two}

One Headlight by The Wallflowers

This song reminds me of growing up in the 90s and playing outside during the summer (it must have been on the radio while I was outside or something because that is the image that comes into my head).  I absolutely love this song still today!

Day 8 of 10 Day YOU Challenge

For Day 8 of the 10 Day YOU Challenge, brought to us by Nicole from over at dancing with sunshine, I have to list three of my favorite films.

Oh goodness me, this one is going to be even harder than listing my four favorite books!!  I am an avid movie lover and have seen many, many films that I consider to be my favorites!

Well here goes nothing...

{one}

Gone with the Wind

{Source}

This is just such a great movie! Every single time I see this movie I get swept back to the antebellum south!  It makes me want to put on a hoop skirt and walk around a plantation (seriously ladies, I used to dress up in a hoopskirt to watch this movie...I promise I don't do this anymore...it just makes me WANT to, haha).  I just love how strong Scarlett O'Hara is in this movie!  I even wrote my college admissions letter about Scarlett O'Hara (they said either make them laugh or cry)!!  Obsessed...maybe!

{two}

Alfred Hitchcock thrillers

I am totally cheating on this one, but I love so many of his films that I couldn't choose just one!  My absolute favorites are: Psycho, North by Northwest, Rear Window, and Dial M for Murder.  But, they are all so good!!

{three}

The Help

This is a new addition to my favorite movie list.  This movie was absolutely amazing! I cannot get over how well this film was cast...the actresses were exactly how I pictured each character from the book!  Sometimes films that have been adapted from books just don't hold a candle to the original...this one definitely does!!  It will make you laugh out loud and tear up, all within minutes of each other!!

{three-and-a-half}

Father of the Bride, Parts One and Two
Oh my goodness, these movies just make my heart happy!  I own both of them and if I ever see that it is on TV, I stop and watch.  They are just so funny and heartwarming and show that family is everything.  I am going to have to watch these ASAP!!

As I did with books, I am going to have to feature some honorable mentions: Breakfast at Tiffany's, Funny Face, Sabrina, National Treasure (1 & 2), Indiana Jones (all of them), When in Rome, Mary Poppins, Sound of Music, Chicago, Mamma Mia!, Grease, Life as We Know It, The Notebook, Definitely, Maybe, Knocked UpThe Ugly Truth, Disturbia, The Hitcher (the new one with Sophia Bush), Scream series, The Strangers, Stay Alive and Dead Silence.  Can you tell I like old movies and then chick flicks/romantic comedies/musicals and then all the way to horror movies?! I'm all over the map!!

It Finally Came!!

In the midst of preparing for Hurricane Irene, my Erin Condren planner arrived!! Oh my goodness, I was so excited to see the brightly colored package waiting for me this afternoon!

I teetered back and forth over getting a new Lilly Pulitzer planner or ordering the more expensive Erin Condren planner.  I cannot tell you how happy I am that I ordered the EC planner...it is everything that everybody is saying it is!!

{I love these freebie stickers...I actually thought about getting the Peacock pattern for the planner so I love that it was my freebie sticker pattern!}

{I decided to get just my first name on my planner because I didn't want to commit to my current last name for 18-months because we hopefully will be getting married as soon as possible!!}

The first thing that I noticed about the planner is how sturdy the laminated cover is.  I knew to expect a laminated cover, but this thing is thick! I am so impressed!

I love all of the month tabs and that they are thick!  I am so excited that not only is there a month-at-a-glance, but also week-at-a-glance broken down in to morning, day, and night so you can stay super organized!! The stickers are such a great bonus...they will be sure to make any important day stand out.

Lots of pictures of my new EC planner...

{I love the Special Dates at a glance pages...makes transferring them to the next calendar!}
{The mini-calendars are great for planning for future appointments and plans!}
{The planner is loaded with inspirational quotes that really make you stop and realize what is important when you are trying to prioritize your life!}
{The actual month-at-a-glance calendar is on the month-tab, so this calendar is on thick card-stock which makes it extra durable!}
{On the next page after the month-at-a-glance, there are two full pages of notes}

{There are so many pages for notes...I love it! I am always making to-do lists and now I can keep it all together!}
{Important Numbers...essential in a pinch!}
{Plus, there's a place for MY emergency numbers!}
{Lots and lots of stickers!}
{Even more stickers!!}
{Plus blank stickers for making your own!}
{In even more colors!!}
{I love the double-sided folder to keep odds and ends together!}

{The plastic pocket is such a great addition! Plus, it came with some freebie stickers that matches my planner!}
{All of my "matching" freebie stickers!}
{An additional sample pack of products!!}
{Even more labels!!}

{Inside of back cover}
{Back cover}
I am so excited to start writing in my planner...especially with my new bright colored Sharpie pens that I got the other day during our Hurricane Preparation shopping trip!!

**UPDATE** These fun Sharpie pens came from Wal-Mart!  In our local store, they were in the office supplies section on an end cap with their new liquid ink pencils and were a steal at $3.97!!

If you haven't already checked out Erin Condren planners, you definitely should! They really are what they are cracked up to be...maybe even more!  They are definitely an investment, but it is so worth it!!

**I was not compensated to write this review.  I just wanted to give y'all my honest opinion on this planner, in case you were thinking about buying it!**
