Another Busy Day

This morning I had a dentist appointment in town, which was pretty uneventful.  The dentist said in his 27 years of being in practice, I was among the top 20 of teeth!  I was excited to hear that!  I had to have impressions made for a night guard though, which was uncomfortable for me because I have a horrible gag reflex.  But, I made it through it without throwing up!

This afternoon, we had to head back to High Point for my hair appointment.  It has been since October 30th since my last haircut (which ended horribly, losing nearly 5+ inches, and hating the way I looked--all on the same day of our engagement party).  I have been growing it out ever since then and I can FINALLY get it up in a pony tail.

Here is a before picture:

And after pictures:

Yay! I have a hairstyle!!  She showed me how easy it is to curl my hair and I cannot wait to try it when we get back to Virginia! Of course, she made it look easy, but she does hair for a living!

And...a picture of my now absent mole! Just so I can remember...

I spared y'all the close-up that I sent my mom!!

I hope everyone had a great day!

Busy Day!

Today, Tom and I have been running all over the place! This morning I had an eye appointment in Archdale.  The appointment was pretty uneventful; my prescription in my left eye changed but the doctor decided to not switch prescriptions in my glasses or contacts since my right eye is dominant.

After the appointment, we headed to High Point and ran into Target to pick up a few things.  Their cotton Champion workout tank tops were on sale so I grabbed one in a pretty royal blue.  I thought I would give it a shot; I am more partial to the duo-dry shirts (you know, the polyester-ish ones) but we'll just see! I couldn't pass up $7.99 workout shirts!

We had lunch at Panera, which was a special treat since the one in Virginia is far away from his house and we are never out that way.  I absolutely love their bagels and even though it was lunchtime I just had to have one!

After lunch we went to my dermatologist appointment.  Luckily, I only had to have one mole removed.  The doctor said it was a deep though so it hurts really bad!!

Once we made it back to Lexington, we ran in to the local Vera Bradley retailer to check out the Hello Dahlia bags they had in stock.  Unfortunately, they didn't have the cosmetic bag in the pattern, but I did check out the large duffel as well as the tote that I want for my birthday (and took pictures on my ancient Blackberry and sent it to my mom so she would know exactly what I was looking for!).

Finally, we went to the drug store to stock up on circular Band-Aids, Neosporin, and Mederma for when the wound heals.  Since the mole was on my chest, the doctor told me that I was definitely going to have a scar but to take good care of it so that it heals smooth.  Tom has been a good "doctor" and is taking care of my new "boo-boo" and even treated me to an orangeaid from the lunch counter at our drugstore...soo yummy!! (I would post a picture of my new wound, but it might make y'all a little queasy!)

I had some good responses to my Style Icon post this morning, so I'm thinking that I will do a link-up next Monday for it.  Maybe I'll even do a giveaway tie-in with it if I get a certain amount of people to link-up! We'll see...make sure you comment and let me know if y'all would be interested in it!!

P.S. I added my Twitter feed to my blog page! Please follow me...I am trying to learn the ropes!

P.P.S. Michelle over at The Vintage Apple is doing an AMAZING Kate Spade giveaway! Pop over and check it out!!

Monday's Style File: Kate Middleton

I have a strange habit of saving pictures of celebrities with styles that I like and want to copy in some way, shape, or form! So, I figured I would try to do a weekly post on a style icon that I'm currently loving! (Maybe I could do a weekly link-up, too...let me know if y'all would be interested!!)

This week I'm loving Kate Middleton's style! I know, I know she is a princess so she is going to look beautiful, but she just always looks so effortlessly chic and knows exactly how to style her hair, apply her makeup, and what exactly to wear!

I love her easy casual style here.  I believe this was the weekend after their wedding and the tabloids said she easily blended in to her new Whales community...except for her huge ring! :-)

I love this bright dress! And if anyone knows where these shoes are from, let me know! I need them!

I love this blue dress, too! And there are those shoes again!

She even makes a black wrap dress look effortlessly chic!

This is long before the engagement/marriage from the looks of it, but I love the white jeans/black shirt combination!  I am a huge fan of white jeans and love this look!

And who could forget this gorgeous dress?!  It matches her engagement ring perfectly!

There are so many more pictures I could choose from, but I think y'all get the idea!

Let me know if y'all would be interested in a link-up!!

Apartment Pictures

Almost a month ago, I said I would post some pictures of our old apartment on here.  Well, I forgot!  So, even though we are almost one month out of the apartment, I thought I would go ahead and upload them to my blog so that I can remember where we used to call home!!

I wish I would have gotten pictures of the apartment before we had packed everything up but between finishing college and graduation, I just didn't find the time!  I am glad that I took these before we left though! I hope you enjoyed the tour through my apartment!

Weekend Mountain Trip

On Friday, Tom, Mattie, Mom, Mattie's two friends Molly and Mary, and I headed up to my grandparents' mountain condo near Grandfather Mountain.  When we got up to the mountains, mom made spaghetti and we just hung out around the condo and played Scrabble and put together a puzzle...oh yeah and I finally got to try a Skinnygirl Margarita! It was sooo yummy!!

Saturday, we woke up early and mom fixed a big breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, and blueberry pancakes! Breakfast is by far my favorite meal...I could eat it any time of the day!!  After breakfast we went to the Tanger Outlets in Blowing Rock.  They aren't nearly as big as the one in Mebane but I was still able to find a few goodies!  Most importantly a new pair of running shoes!!  I also got a new pair of jeans from the J. Crew outlet and a black cardigan from the Ann Taylor Loft outlet.  I love me some good deals!

After the outlets we went into downtown Blowing Rock and walked around and window shopped.  I love downtown Blowing Rock; it is so pretty!

That night we went to the Speckled Fish for dinner and it was so yummy! I had a blue cheese wedge salad and it was delicious! Then, I had a chicken dish that was chicken baked with mozzarella with a pesto pasta and fresh tomatoes...oh my gosh, it was so good!  For dessert, Tom and I split a grilled poundcake with strawberries on top! This was so good! Oh my goodness, I am getting so hungry typing this out!

Mary, Molly, and Mattie before dinner!

Tom and me before dinner!

This morning, we woke up and cleaned up the condo and headed home.  Mom is cooking dinner for us tonight and we are having mashed potatoes with cheese on top, creamed corn, broccoli, and sliced tomatoes.  I have missed her cooking so much!!  There is nothing like good southern cooking from my mom!

Some pictures before we left! {My new jeans!!}

I hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Happy Friday!

Greetings from Lexington!!

Tom and I drove down from Virginia yesterday for a few days in my hometown with my family!  Last night we met my sister at Lexington Barbeque for dinner (yummy!) and then just relaxed the rest of the night.  Today we are meeting my dad for lunch and then packing up our cars and going to Grandfather Mountain with my mom, sister, and sister's two friends (who are twins...let's see if I can tell them apart!).  Hopefully, I will take lots and lots of pictures to post when we get back on Sunday!

Monday and Tuesday I have a bunch of appointments!  On Monday I have an eye doctor appointment and then a dermatologist appointment to get some moles removed (ouch!).  Tuesday, I have a dentist appointment and then a hair cut! I'm going to be a busy little bee!

Have a great weekend!
